Geography Trainer

Geography Trainer is a very simple and straightforward educational tool that lets its users practice and learn their knowledge of country capitals.

Though primarily aimed at school age children, Geography Trainer is suitable for any kind of users, of any age.

I don't quite like the fact that the name of this tool might make you think of a more comprehensive functionality. It won't help you train your overall geography skills, but only your country capital knowledge. The name of the tool is rather misleading. Anyway, it doesn't cost a penny, so that shouldn't matter that much.

The interface is very simple and neat. There are no customization options, neither for the look of the interface, nor for the content used for the country capitals' practice. In other words, you cannot edit the questions and answers, you can only practice using the existing ones. Furthermore, if I close a training session and start a new one, the same questions are repeated, unless I change the category as well.

Leaving criticism aside, Geography Trainer also comes with nice aspects. For example, it's really easy to use. You can practice the capitals for all countries in the world or only for those from a specific continent. Last but not least, a high scores table is also included.

To sum it all up, Geography Trainer has a couple of flaws but still represents a good tool for practicing your knowledge of country capitals, especially since it's free, lightweight, and simple.
